/>Alabama Opener high energy and fun a JAMMIN' promised land, Next is Tennessee Jed, strong and the jam at the end is perfect.. Me&My Uncle I love this song so i always like one of those, smoothly goes in to a jammin' Mexicali Blues. A lysergical Candyman follows, I can see the floor swaying with this one, beautiful and strong Next is Easy to love you,Tight and sweet. I love Brent and Brent tunes and the older i get the more i appreciate him and his tunes, what a troubled and beautiful soul, RIP BRENT. ..Looks like Rain, strong and emotional, love it, jackaroemassivejackstraw Smokin' hot Deal (as usual?) this song always frustrates my brother he always asks when the song will end hahaha Massive Terrapin, very smooth and thoughtful, nice jamming. next is the Playin', my favorite jam. I read a news article somewhere that said the terrapin and playin' caused some bad trips and people taken out of the place, I believe it , and it made me think...must be scary to want the music to stop but it wont , intense music.. I don't know what Brent does the whole time but uh, he is inspired and is doing all sorts of crazy, especially at the end and Jerry never stops, never, drumming is very pleasant and intense every hit with a purpose. a hot drums and a scary space follows and you are back into reality with Black peter I always love the sadder dead songs, china doll, brokedown, memphis blues, heavens door (bob dylan, I know)etc, good lovin'! and Us Blues is next. What a show, also it is on Road trips vol 1 num 1 but I prefer this over that, also this has the whole gem of a show :)

37 minutes of amazement and joy. On one of the dates earlier in the year, someone wrote that '79 is a transitional year for the sound of the band. I share that opinion. Good Lovin' is, for me, a perfect example. In the Pig world, this was a very masculine song. The '77 & '78 versions are really wonderful, but they are different - more a plea than statement. Now with Brent in the band it is once again an agressive statement.

Why 79 Dead is the near perfection.
Listen to Jerry's guitar at the beginning of jackarow... Pretty cool. Also, the jack straw is right up there with some of the best.
